Recursive Structural Coherence Field (RSCF)

A Recursive Structural Coherence Field, or RSCF, is a way of thinking about how anything maintains its identity while constantly changing.

Instead of viewing things as isolated objects, RSCF views them as living structures that must continuously hold themselves together against forces that would otherwise break them apart.

A person is not merely a body.A scientific theory is not merely a collection of statements.

A company is not merely a legal entity.

A civilization is not merely a collection of people.

Each of these exists because some form of coherence is being maintained over time. RSCF proposes that coherence itself is the fundamental unit of analysis.

Recursive Structural Coherence Field and Modern Science

The RSCF framework becomes most interesting when it is connected to existing scientific disciplines. It should not be viewed as a replacement for physics, biology, complexity science, information theory, or systems theory. Instead, it can be interpreted as a higher-level structural language that attempts to describe patterns appearing across many domains.

The central question becomes: What is the common organizational principle shared by particles, cells, brains, societies, economies, scientific theories, and civilizations?

RSCF proposes that the answer is coherence.

Examples and Proof

RSCF cannot be proven as a completed scientific theory yet. What can be proven is the internal logic: If a system loses distinction, boundary, memory, and repair capacity, then it can no longer persist as the same coherent system.

What can be supported by science is the pattern: Many real systems survive by maintaining boundaries, memory, adaptation, selection, and repair under entropy pressure.

The Universal Principle

The central principle of the RSCF framework can be expressed in ordinary language: A structure continues to exist only if it can preserve enough coherence to remain itself while adapting enough to survive change.

Too much rigidity leads to extinction. Too much instability leads to collapse.

Life, intelligence, science, civilization, and knowledge all exist within this balance.

From this perspective, reality is not fundamentally made of static things.

Reality is composed of evolving fields of coherence that continuously distinguish themselves, maintain boundaries, preserve memory, adapt through mutation, filter through selection, and survive through repair.
